Patient Artwork Project: Glenside Hospital Museum
Research, explore and respond to the collection of Glenside Hospital Museum as part of a new ten-session online Exploring Collections course.
Arts charity Outside In is working in partnership with Glenside Hospital Museum (Bristol) to give artists with lived experience of mental health issues the opportunity to explore, research and respond to the museum’s Collection through a free, online course.
The project is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, and will be a chance for up to seven artists to explore the collection online via Zoom with support from an experienced course tutor, and staff from Glenside Hospital Museum.
The aim of the project is to enable those with their own lived experience of mental health issues to explore the history of mental health and mental health treatment, providing new perspectives on this unique and interesting collection.
The course begins on Wednesday 10 March, and will run every Wednesday and Thursday for 5 weeks.
