Creative Workshop Leaders

Location: Forest of Dean (various)
Type: Freelance
Fee: £125 per workshop
Deadline: 18 April 2022 (5pm)

Wyldwood Arts are currently recruiting for The Meeting Place, a new participatory arts project designed to inspire, nurture and celebrate grassroots creative talent in the Forest of Dean. They are looking for freelance artists to facilitate drop-in community skills workshop in the following areas:

  • Poetry and performance
  • Drama skills
  • Song writing
  • Film/audio storytelling (particularly using smartphones and free software)

You will deliver up to six workshops during May and June 2022, with a potential follow-up session for participants who would benefit for further time to develop their work ahead of a showcase event in July as part of Coleford Music Festival.

You will be working across the Forest of Dean, in areas such as Cinderford, Coleford, Lydney, and Bream. Some sessions are likely to be on Saturdays. Transport will be essential.

Participants will be aged from 15 – 115! Some will be looking to develop their existing skills, while others will be completely unfamiliar with the techniques you are presenting and will need a more supportive approach.

You will bring a sense of joy and creative exploration to each session, with a focus on encouraging people to find their creative voice and tell their own stories.
