Callout for Construction Industry Workers for Mental Health Project
Alright Mate? CIC is working on an interactive poster project for construction sites, and need participants to take part in an interview and have their portrait taken.
Alright Mate? was founded in 2019 to normalise conversations about male mental health. They have worked with veterans, the Exeter Chiefs, barbers and the general public, and in Spring 2020 they are making an interactive poster for construction sites.
The poster will feature a QR code which is linked to online audio of members of the construction industry chatting about their experiences and thoughts on stress, wellbeing and looking out for their mates in the industry. Conversations might be funny, serious, or both and can be listened to anywhere.
Portraits will be taken with a wet-plate camera and everyone photographed will get a digital copy of their portrait.
The idea is that when people hear relatable voices discussing a topic, it normalises it and reduces the chance of people not seeking help if and when they need it.
How to take part
Alright Mate are looking for 20+ people nationwide to work with.
Interviews will last approx. 30 mins and can be in person or over phone/skype.
All participants will receive £25 and a copy of their portrait.
If you would like to be a voice and/or face of the poster, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to register interest.
