Outside In new peer mentor programme ‘Next Steps’ to be launched

A new peer mentor programme, ‘Next Steps’, will provide vital development opportunities for artists facing barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation.

Outside In is excited to announce a new peer mentor programme ‘Next Steps’,  thanks to support from the  Arts Society. The programme is designed to be tailor-made and respond to the needs of the individual artists, while including more general professional business skills workshops, so mentors and mentees will be matched accordingly.

The programme will be run fully online through a series of group and one-to-one sessions which will allow Outside In to work with participants from across the UK. The need for the programme has been identified through artist feedback with people wishing to gain the skills and confidence to progress their careers in the arts, as well as have an established peer-led network for continued learning beyond the project.

Outside In will be contacting artists who have undertaken Step Up training before about the mentor roles and applications for the artists who would like mentoring will open in the spring – full details will be shared on the Outside In newsletters, so visit their website to subscribe – outsidein.org.uk
