Mary Lou Revue’s FREE virtual song and dance resource care packs

Mary Lou Revue’s FREE virtual song and dance resource care packs have been reaching those in care, particularly those in isolation, who cannot access communal areas and group events. A vintage song and dance duo, the resources packs recently featured on BBC Points West.

The Mary Lou Revue are a vintage song and dance duo based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Before the outbreak of Covid, they had been delivering live performance and participatory song and dance sessions in care settings, hospitals and community groups. During the first two lockdown periods, they developed their virtual song and dance resource pack and DVD, as a way to reach people in isolation and continue delivering interactive performance to them. They were awarded a grant from Arts Council England and funding from Celebrating Age, Wiltshire to produce 100 copies of the latest edition of their care pack, to give away free of charge.

BBC Points West recently ran a feature showing staff and residents at Paternoster House, Cirencester using the packs. As a surprise, they were joined by Marie-louise and Steven in person, who led them in a few song and dance numbers.

The duo are currently touring their bandstand Cabaret show, taking their lively and colourful performances to public parks and gardens, and community events.

They have a few packs remaining to give away which can be requested via the contact page on their website
