Arts Council England reveals seven disability and equality principles for Covid-19 recovery

ACE designs principles to help the industry make inclusive decisions that go beyond compliance and celebrate diversity.

Arts Council England has outlined seven principles for organisations to use in their approach to delivery and recovery from the coronavirus pandemic with a specific focus on disability and relevant Equality legislation. The principles are designed to help the industry make inclusive decisions that go beyond compliance and celebrate diversity. The principles have been created with We Shall Not Be Removed, Ramps on the Moon, Attitude is Everything, Paraorchestra and What Next?.

The advice is aimed at staff of all grades across arts and cultural institutions and consider implications for artists, managers, and public-facing front-of-house and box office staff. It is hoped that by following the seven principles organisations will be able to better support disabled people’s participation as audiences and visitors, and within the creative workforce.
