About the Event

Dorchester Arts is pleased to offer this Parkinson’s Dance Training for experienced dance artists and health professionals.

The training follows the Parkinson Dance Science approach to dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s. It  fuses together creative dance, physio-therapy and research evidence co-founded by Dr Sophia Hulbert and Aimee Hobbs with the support of Pavilion Dance South West. Parkinson’s Dance Science classes aims to be ‘A creative & social experience, with an evidenced, theoretical underpinning, providing a therapeutic effect, specific for the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

The training comprises of three modules which includes an online webinar and two days in-house training. It will enable participants to gain the knowledge and skills to lead Dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s using the Parkinson’s Dance Science approach, which is backed by research and encompasses physiological underpinnings into the art of the dance class.
