Mad Hearts: Futuring Mental Health through the Arts – 10 to 11 June 2021
About this Event
Mad Hearts is an annual conference promoting productive intersections between creative arts and mental health through a mixture of conference talks, discussion forums, and creative enquiry activities (reflection through art-making). A two day online event organised by the MSc Creative Arts and Mental Health at Queen Mary, University of London, the event explores productive, radical, contemporary encounters between the arts and mental health, bringing together clinical, artistic and research perspectives that offer a re-interpretation of contemporary mental mental health science and practice, with a view of imagining a different future.
Since 2019, when it launched, Mad Hearts has provided a platform for interdisciplinary thinking, learning, practice, participation and discussion, involving artists, service users, survivors, academics and clinicians. They welcome service users, mental health professionals, artists and researchers and any members of the general public interested in the way the arts can contribute to mental health.
