Online Launch of the National Mapping of Black Asian and Minority (BAME) Mental Health Services Survey and Report
BAMEStream presents the Launch of their report: ‘Implications and Impact: A Case for Culturally Appropriate Mental Health Services in response to COVID-19’
COVID-19 has exposed yet another inequality. Two analyses carried out by Public Health England revealed that BAME communities are at higher risk of contracting the virus, increased risk of severe symptoms and higher rates of death.
It is crucial that anyone bereaved by COVID-19 receive the appropriate support that they need. It is well known that BAME communities are less likely to access mainstream services so the need for culturally responsive mental health services, in particular bereavement support is paramount to support their future well-being and mental health.
Join The Ubele Initiative as they launch their report and present the findings of their survey! They will be discussing the need for a culturally appropriate bereavement service for the BAME community in response to COVID-19.
