About this Event

‘Arts for Brain Health: Social Prescribing as Peri-Diagnostic Practice for Dementia’

Hear how social prescribing can unlock access to re-energising arts and wellbeing activities at the onset of symptoms,
and how engaging in weekly activity empowers individuals and their partners to preserve their brain health
and override strain in the lonely fear-filled months leading to diagnosis and beyond.

The aim of the conference is to advance referral to social prescribing as natural GP practice on the point of referral to memory assessment, and so a great opportunity for GPs, social prescribers, arts and health organisations, educationalists and funders, innovative and creative ageing specialists, local authorities and policy makers to come together and revolutionise the world of social prescribing for brain health.

Policy-makers, social reformers, primary care, academic specialists in brain health and dementia, and leaders in social prescribing, culture, health and wellbeing from around the UK will highlight cross-sector referral and funding partnership practice for sustainable social prescription programmes, present evidence for creative ageing, and debate the way forward.
