About the Event

This symposium, hosted by the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), will include presentations on the best coproduction approach in different areas of art therapy practice and research. Art therapy and coproduction have much to offer each other. Coproduction strengthens art therapy theory and art therapy gives voice and inclusion to those verbally challenged by developmental, cognitive or traumatic barriers.

The event will explore the different challenges from service users and art therapists’ perspectives, how to meet these and how to support a continuing joint exploration of complex issues which cannot be easily solved.

The symposium is also timed to coincide with the publication of a special issue of IJAT on Coproduction and BAAT are delighted that many of the authors featured there will be able to join them on the day, which will include individual and panel presentations and group discussions.
