South Devon song-makers Trio of Men will be launching Villages in Action’s new streaming platform with an online premiere and Q&A of their evolving song cycle and film Dementialand – an evolving song-cycle and film based on experiences in care homes, on dementia wards and with family members.

The screening will also be available to stream on demand from 16th-17th October.

Dementialand is a digital performance inspired by Steve Sowden and Hugh Nankivell’s relationships to loved ones with dementia and the pair’s work in local residential homes and dementia wards. The Trio of Men and violinist Emma Welton perform a suite of music accompanied by film-montage of care homes featuring dancer Clare Parker.

Trio of Men are synonymous with joyful instant songmaking at festivals, hospitals, nursery schools and with experimental choirs. They have crafted unexpected happenings & cosmic rituals: gleefully mixing Victorian science with shamanism, Brexit with hard-boiled eggs & Agatha Christie with Japanese community orchestras.

Tickets for the online screening are £5 and are available at:

This premiere screening will be followed by a Q&A with the creators via Zoom.
