Animated Tales Workshop

About the Event

Animation is a powerful medium to use in a variety of settings allowing participants to tell and reclaim their story. This online workshop will give you a foundation into using animation and story in community and health settings from an experiential, theoretical and practical perspective.

The workshop will include tuition in basic stop frame animation and will explore the links between animation, embodied narrative/storytelling and difficult and traumatic narratives. It will be experimental, lo-tech and fun.

Stop-Frame animation is a powerful medium to use in community, heath and clinical settings allowing participants to reclaim and re-tell their story. We will think about the idea of embodied narrative, how animation involves making things, how it can help order sometimes chaotic narratives, how it give participants directorial control of their story.

The workshop is suitable for arts therapists, participatory and collaborative artists, health professionals, therapists and educators.
