Age of Creativity Festival 2019

Throughout May 2019
Across the UK & Ireland

A massive month-long celebration of creativity and culture in later life across the UK & Ireland. Accepting brochure submissions until 1st March 2019, and events submissions until May.

The new Age of Creativity Festival runs for the entire month of May across England. Not only does this overlap with the Get Creative Festival (above) but it also coincides with similar festivals in other nations (Bealtaine in Ireland, Gwanwyn in Wales and Luminate in Scotland) creating - for the very first time - a massive month-long celebration of creativity and culture in later life across the UK & Ireland.

The Age of Creativity Festival celebrates the extraordinary range of Age Friendly creative and cultural work taking place across England and reaches out into our community to help more people get involved. This is a chance to develop new audiences and connect with people who have significant barriers to taking part, because we all know the positive impact creativity could have on their lives is tremendous. So get involved! Add your events to the festival programme or generate new opportunities for older people to get creative and help the festival bring more culture into the lives of older people.

The theme for the 2019 Age of Creativity Festival is Intergenerational Work, inspired by the immeasureable value of bringing together communities and generations. However, the festival still exists to celebrate older people as audiences, participants, volunteers and artists. The festival seeks to showcase an eclectic mix of tastes, styles, art-forms and interests that are Age Friendly, and provide the consideration and support that enables older people to produce, create and enjoy creativity up and down the country.

List your events on the Voluntary Arts website

Events can be added until May though those added before 1 March will be eligible for selection for the regional brochure which will  be distributed via Age UKs around the country in hard copy and PDF.
