Wild Walks for Wellbeing (Bristol)

Ongoing event - Thursdays, meet between 12:30pm - 1pm, walks due to finish around 5pm.
Meet at Trinity Community Garden, Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, Lawrence Hill, Bristol, BS2 0NW or Wesley Chapel, Bristol City Centre

Improve your mental health and fitness through walking, with the Wild Walks for Wellbeing group who run free sessions every Thursday afternoon in Bristol.

Improve your fitness and mental health through walking, with Wild Walks for Wellbeing. Come and discover new places and make new friends on Thursday afternoons.

To access the Wild Walks for Wellbeing group and to join regular walks, please find out first when the next taster walk is by contacting Andrew Scott, Volunteer walk leader for more info.

A taster walk will be around 60 minutes (2 miles walking) and will finish with a refreshment stop to rest an socialize- please bring money for refreshments. After the walk we’d love your feedback on the walk and to discuss attending further sessions.


The group meets Thursday afternoons (between 12.30- 1.30pm and finish by 5pm), at Trinity Community Garden or alternatively at Wesley Chapel, Bristol City Centre. Walks are generally between 60-90 minutes and some walks may involve travel by bus or train to the start.






Are you interested in getting involved as a Volunteer Walk Leader?

You would need to ...

  • Give 4 to 10 hours a month of your time
  • Commit to leading at least one walk a month, for 6 months
  • Attend one day accredited Walk Leader Training on: Wed 20th September 2017 at City Hall, College Green
  • Explore and get to know walk routes, with a trained leader.
  • With support and training, complete risk assessments for your walk routes, tell the group about the walk (at the start) and front lead
  • Be flexible, approachable, friendly and confident
  • Awareness of mental health issues would be beneficial however training can be provided.
