Summary

In July 2011 Myrtle Theatre Company and The Meriton – a specialist school in Bristol for young mothers and pregnant teens – collaborated on a theatre project hosted at the Tobacco Factory Theatre. Focusing on partnership violence and abusive relationships, the project gave the students an opportunity through theatre to explore ways to develop healthy and respectful relationships and to recognise how they and their child have a right to be free from abuse. A multi-media play was created, based on ‘A Letter to That’s Life!’ specially written by playwright Catherine Johnson, which was performed to an invited audience.
