One Day Study Event: 19th September Animated Encounters

A one day study event exploring the use of animation in health and social care presented by the College of Occupational Therapist Specialist Section: Mental Health in partnership with Animated Encounters and Animation Therapy.
Speakers:
Key note speaker: David Sproxton CBE, Co-founder of Aardman Animations.
Speakers include leading occupational therapists and artists who will present their experiences of using animation as therapy in both clinical and community practice. The emergence of animated documentary as a technique within the field of animation and its relevance within therapies will also be explored during a panel discussion.
Case study presentations include speakers from Adult Forensic Psychiarty and Paediatrics. Sally Payne the occupational therapist behind the children’s series Tree Fu Tom and Helen Mason creator of the Re-Animation Approach, guiding therapist and artists in the therapeutic use of animation will share their experiences.
